Biography

Boan Venter is a strong, mobile loose-head prop who made his name in Scotland. Born on 14 April 1997 and educated at De Aar, he joined Edinburgh in 2021 and became a mainstay of their pack. He was on course to qualify for Scotland on residency before choosing South Africa.

He made his Test debut against Georgia in Mbombela in 2025, then returned home to join the Lions. His father De Waal Venter was a Griqualand West stalwart.
