Biography

Paul Johnstone was a centre who played most of his Test rugby on the wing. Born in Johannesburg on 30 June 1930 and educated at Hilton College, he played for UCT, Western Province and Transvaal.

He played all five Tests on the 1951–52 tour, scoring two tries, a conversion and a penalty in the 25–3 win over France in Paris, and later toured New Zealand in 1956. He won nine caps. He died on 22 April 1996.
