Biography

Gysie Pienaar was a brilliant attacking fullback who played 13 Tests between 1980 and 1981. Born in Bloemfontein on 21 December 1954, he played for the Orange Free State. He scored tries against the 1980 British Isles side and France, and played all three Tests in New Zealand in 1981. His son Ruan also became a Springbok.
