Ronnie Hill was a Rhodesian hooker who played seven Tests between 1960 and 1963 and lost only one. Born in Johannesburg on 20 December 1934 and educated at Gifford in Bulawayo, he caught the selectors’ eye with fine displays against the 1960 All Blacks. He hooked against Wales and Ireland on the 1960–61 tour and later against Australia and the British Isles. He died on 6 January 2011.
