Biography
Boetie McHardy was a tall, fast and deceptive wing from the Orange Free State who scored six tries in five Tests, every one of them a win. Born in Bloemfontein on 11 June 1890 and educated at Grey College, he played on the left wing throughout the 1912–13 Grand Slam tour.
He scored three tries in the 38–0 win over Ireland and two more in the 38–5 win over France. He was remembered as a quiet, private man. He died on 13 December 1959.
