Biography

Zachary Porthen is a young tight-head prop who rose quickly from the Stormers bench to the Test side. Born in Cape Town on 31 March 2004 and educated at Wynberg Boys’ High, he captained the Junior Springboks in 2024.

He made his Test debut against Japan at Wembley in 2025, aged 21. That made him the youngest prop to play for South Africa since Ollie le Roux in 1994.
