Biography
Ruan Venter is a tall, explosive forward who started as a flanker and has moved into the second row. Born on 29 November 2002 and educated at Paarl Boys’ High, he was one of the leading loose forwards for the Junior Springboks, who went unbeaten through the U20 Summer Series in Italy.
He won his first cap off the bench against Portugal in 2024, aged 21. The Springboks planned to use him at lock in 2026, but a knee injury ruled him out.
