Biography

Bobby Skinstad was a gifted, ball-playing loose forward who played 42 Tests between 1997 and 2007 and captained South Africa 12 times. Born in Bulawayo on 3 July 1976 and educated at Hilton College, he played for Western Province, the Lions and the Sharks.

He scored crucial tries against New Zealand and Australia in the 1998 Tri Nations-winning campaign. After injuries and a spell away from the game, he returned to be part of the 2007 World Cup-winning squad.
