Biography

Joggie Jansen was a centre made famous by one tackle: his crunching hit on All Black Wayne Cottrell set the tone for the 17–6 win at Loftus Versfeld in 1970. Born in Griekwastad on 5 February 1948, he played for the Orange Free State and won ten caps, scoring a try against New Zealand at Newlands. He toured Australia in 1971. He died on 30 August 2026.
