Biography

Butch Lochner was a roving loose forward who played nine Tests between 1955 and 1958. Born in Vredenburg on 1 February 1931, he played for Western Province and Border. On the 1956 tour of New Zealand he was a constant threat to the All Black flyhalves, and he scored a try in Christchurch. He scored again against France in 1958. He died on 27 August 2010.
