Biography
Mauritz van den Berg played lock in four Tests on the 1937 tour, including all three against New Zealand, a series South Africa won 2–1. Born in Pretoria on 9 May 1909 and educated at Glenwood, he played for Western Province from 1932 to 1940. His son Derek also played for South Africa. He died on 9 April 1948.
