Biography
Kalfie Martin played prop in the 26–17 win over Australia in Sydney in 1937, his only Test. Born in Bloemfontein on 10 June 1910 and educated at Grey College, he represented Transvaal. He went on to a distinguished career in the South African Air Force, commanding units in North Africa during the Second World War and later serving as Chief of the Air Force and Chief of the Defence Staff. He died on 20 October 2000.
