Biography

Tony Harris was a quick, incisive flyhalf with a fine grubber kick. Born in Kimberley on 27 August 1916, he played for Transvaal and was invited to the 1937 trials by the national selectors after being overlooked by his own union.

He played in the last two Tests in New Zealand, both won, and all three Tests against the 1938 British Isles side, scoring a try at Ellis Park. He was also a Test cricketer for South Africa. He died on 7 March 1993.
