Biography
Alf Walker was a strong, fearless Natal forward who played six Tests between 1921 and 1924. Born in Randfontein on 8 May 1893, he made his debut in the first Test against New Zealand at Dunedin and impressed the New Zealand public on that tour. He then played all four Tests against the 1924 British Isles side. His son Harry Newton-Walker was a Springbok in the 1950s. He died on 17 July 1971.
