Biography

Nick du Plessis was a Western Transvaal forward who played five Tests and never lost one. Born in Steynsburg on 4 December 1894 and educated at Paul Roos Gymnasium, he studied at Victoria College in Stellenbosch and became a teacher.

He played two Tests in New Zealand in 1921, including the 9–5 win at Eden Park, and three against the 1924 British Isles side. His nephew Felix du Plessis later captained South Africa. He died on 10 August 1949.
