Biography
Charlie Meyer was a versatile back who played in all three Tests of the 1921 series in New Zealand, at centre, inside centre and flyhalf. Born in Harrismith on 14 January 1897, he finished school at Paul Roos Gymnasium and studied at Stellenbosch under Markötter. On tour he played in almost every back-line position and scored ten tries. He died on 31 May 1980.
