Biography

Sarel Strauss played outside centre in the 0–0 draw with New Zealand in Wellington in 1921, his only Test. Born on 24 November 1891 and educated at Grey College, he played rugby and cricket for Griqualand West. He had a long military career, serving in East Africa in the First World War and rising to the rank of major. He died on 6 March 1946.
