Biography
John Luyt was the eldest of three Luyt brothers who all played for South Africa. On the 1912–13 tour all three appeared together in the Tests against Scotland, Wales and England. Born in Ceres on 6 December 1884 and educated at Paul Roos Gymnasium and SACS, John started as a back but turned forward, and played for Western Province and Eastern Province. He won all four of his Tests. He died on 3 October 1964.
