Biography

Tommy Thompson was a Western Province front-row forward who played three Tests on the 1912–13 tour, against Scotland, Ireland and Wales, all of them won. Born in Carnarvon on 4 October 1886 and educated at Paarl Gimnasium and Rondebosch, he served with the South African Infantry in East Africa during the First World War. He was killed in action on 20 June 1916.
