Biography
Mary Jackson was a halfback who impressed British critics on the 1906–07 tour. Born in Constantia on 21 April 1885 and educated at Diocesan College (Bishops), he played for Western Province and won three caps, in the wins over Ireland and Wales and the draw with England. His nickname came from schoolmates who teased him for wearing a kilt on Scottish occasions. He later practised as an attorney in Pretoria and died on 9 December 1976.
