Biography

Tommy Hobson played halfback in the 8–0 win over the British Isles at Newlands in 1903, his only Test. Born in Somerset East on 26 March 1881 and educated at St Andrew’s College and SACS, he played for Hamiltons and Western Province. He was awarded the Croix de Guerre in the First World War and was also a capable cricketer. He died on 2 September 1937.
