Biography
Joe Barry played on the right wing in all three Tests against the 1903 British Isles side, and scored a try in the 8–0 win at Newlands that won the series, South Africa’s first series victory. Born in Robertson on 16 March 1876 and educated at Diocesan College (Bishops), he played for Western Province and later worked as a hotel manager. He died on 29 March 1961.
