Biography
Robert du Preez was a tall, physical scrumhalf with a powerful pass, unusual for the position in his era. Born in Potchefstroom on 19 July 1963, he played for Northern Transvaal and Natal and won seven caps in 1992 and 1993, including South Africa’s first Test after isolation, against New Zealand. His sons Jean-Luc, Daniel and Robert also became Springboks.
