Biography

Gawie Visagie was called up to the 1981 tour of New Zealand as a replacement scrumhalf after a 58-hour journey, but did not play in a Test. Born in Vereeniging on 31 March 1955, he played for Natal. His brother Piet was a Springbok flyhalf. Gawie was one of the most popular Springboks of his time. He died on 19 November 2014.
