Biography

Moaner van Heerden was a tough, uncompromising lock who played 17 Tests between 1974 and 1980. Born in Pretoria on 18 July 1951, he played for Northern Transvaal and Transvaal. He was a key forward in the 1976 series win over New Zealand and scored a try in the 26–22 win over the British Isles in 1980. He toured France in 1974 and South America in 1980.
