Biography
Chris Pope was a quick Western Province wing who played nine Tests between 1974 and 1976, including three in the 1976 series win over New Zealand. Born in Stellenbosch on 30 September 1952 and educated at Rondebosch, he scored a try against France in 1975. Injuries and medical studies ended his career at 23; he qualified as a doctor and has lived in the United States for many years.
