Biography

John Williams was a very tall lock and a formidable line-out jumper who played 13 Tests between 1971 and 1976. Born in Johannesburg on 29 October 1946, he played for Northern Transvaal and toured Australia in 1971 and France in 1974. He later became a highly successful coach of Northern Transvaal. He died on 5 December 2024.
