Biography
Wilfred Trenery was a Cornish miner who won one Test cap, in the second Test against the 1891 British Isles side in Kimberley. Born in Hayle on 21 September 1867, he came to South Africa to work for De Beers and played his rugby for the Pirates club and Griqualand West.
He was carried off injured during that Test, and with no replacements allowed, South Africa finished with 14 men and lost 3–0. He died in a mining accident at De Beers on 23 August 1905, aged 37.
