Biography
Pierre de Villiers was a small, elusive scrumhalf whose Test career spanned nine years. Born in Worcester on 14 June 1905 and educated at Paarl Gimnasium, he played for Western Province.
He made his debut in the 17–0 win over New Zealand in 1928, toured Britain in 1931–32 and Australia and New Zealand in 1937, and won eight caps. He was admired as a perfect gentleman. He died on 14 November 1975.
