Biography

Stevie Joubert was a small, composed fullback who won three caps at just 19 on the 1906–07 tour. Born in Uniondale on 8 April 1887 and educated at Paarl Gimnasium, he learned his game at Victoria College in Stellenbosch and played for Western Province.

He kicked a penalty in the 15–12 win over Ireland, scored a try and a conversion in the 11–0 win over Wales, and played in the 3–3 draw with England. He was admired for his touch-kicking. He died on 27 March 1939.
