Biography

Japie Louw was one of the forwards who played in all three Tests of South Africa’s first international series, against the British Isles in 1891. Born in Durbanville on 30 August 1867 and schooled at Paul Roos Gymnasium, he represented Transvaal.

He turned 24 during the series and played in Port Elizabeth, Kimberley and Cape Town. He died on 17 August 1936.
